What comes to mind when you hear the phrase, “tight budget?” I imagine walking a tight rope between two skyscrapers. My heart is pumping fast. I’m so high up, I can barely breathe.

But it doesn’t have to be that way.

Yes, traditional marketing costs a pretty penny, but there are many alternatives, even for a tight budget.  Many of them can be a fun break from the traditional methods. What’s more, these methods are effective and can be easily tracked. Take a look through some of our best ways to market on a tight budget.

Content is King (What’s New?)

If you’ve read even one other InVerve blog, chances are you've heard the phrase, “content is king.” We enjoy that phrase, but only because it’s true. Nothing trumps quality content. You want to produce content that people will want to see. Create relatable, relevant content and you’ll save yourself a lot of pretty pennies.

Make an Infographic

Remember that many people have visual memories. If content is king, infographics are a great way to appeal to these types of people. If you can put together a quality infographic, people will like it and spread it around for free. Try to make the infographic informational, but also aesthetically appealing.

Social Media is Your Best Friend

Social media is a saving grace for tight budget marketers. It’s an absolutely free channel for any brand or company to advertise in the ways they’d like. Not to mention the fact that you can have instant connections and conversations with potential customers. Take advantage of these outlets and use them to create a brand presence and unique identity.

Get Creative with Guerrilla Marketing

Guerrilla marketing is a different and fun way to get your company’s name out around your area. Get creative and do something that will get people talking. Make a giant mural on the side of a building. Chalk some cool designs all over city sidewalks, or place branded stickers around town. So many ideas exist, and plenty of new ones are waiting to be created.

Breathe New Life into Old Content

With the Internet, a plethora of information is out there for anyone to grab. Research older, relevant content and recreate it in a new and fresh way. Look at it from a different perspective or put it in a different medium. Make it good content, and word will get out.

Who Doesn’t Like Free Stuff?

Offer an online contest to give away free stuff. This one requires a little bit of cash input, but it doesn’t have to break the bank. Not to mention it’ll beef up your presence on social media accounts. Have users interact with your page in exchange for an opportunity to win something. It’s an easy way to get users interacting with and talking about your brand.

Marketing your brand on a tight budget is possible. There are plenty of cheap ways for your company to grow its presence. Have fun, be creative, and produce quality content. It’s your job to be helpful. Keep your consumers in mind and keep them engaged. Provide them with the answers they’re looking for and they’ll show their gratitude by telling others about you.
